Zero Hedge: Desperate For More Recruits, Army Offers $50,000 Signing Bonus
Two years into the pandemic, and now with Department of Defense-wide vaccine mandates threatening early discharge for all troops not in compliance, the US Army is struggling to meet its enlistment quotas, especially for jobs deemed "critical" and highly skilled, for which the military typically spends a lot - sometimes millions - for training.
To lure new recruits, the Army is rolling out with its maximum enlistment bonus of $50,000 - to be offered on a broader scale for all "highly skilled" recruits who agree to sign a six year contract, according to the Associated Press.

WNU Editor: The Pentagon may want recruits, but the purge of personnel who are not vaccinated continues (see below):
Meanwhile, Secretary Austin has been purging the unvaccinated from the U.S. military.

50,000 for a 6 year enlistment comes out to 8,000 per year and change. SO just add that to your expected E1 through E5 pay and compare it a likely civilian job you get.
Now throw in quality of life. Quality of life includes moving. It includes loss of spousal income. In a double income world does that make sense? It might considering a stay at home parent for the first 5 to 14 years could work wonders.
Now throw in that sharp as a tack people such as On Her Knees Kamala and Bingo Night Biden will make decision based on politics and overrule military experts. Those political decisions will not be what is good for the country as a whole of for the US in the wider world, but what is good for their political party and their political career.
I signed up in 1975. Retired with Clintons discousing presidency in 1996.
Took my youngest brother to enlist in in the NG in 1983 when he turned 17. My young brother is still in and deployed to Eastern Europe with the reserves. He can't wait to retire this year when he returns. He says it is a complete horror show with CRT, wokeness, useless training, bad leaders, dragnets for "extremists" (AKA Trump supporters). He's been in the Iraq invasion, Africa tours, Eastern Europe tours and god knows what other quiet deployments in his career.
His youngest son signed up 2 years ago ans spends his days carrying trays to old folks in hospitals, tough combat training. WTF. He looks forward to ETS'ing ASAP.

2 hell with army jesus babe
10:41 is an example of a person who is miseducated, but thinks they are very educated. As the PSA said "A mind is a terrible thing to waste".
Unfortunately, 10:41's mind is wasted, it is a complete loss, and there is no insurance compensation.
Wise people pay attention when economists say something is elastic or inelastic. If something is inelastic, when the underlying variable moves, the dependent variable moves a lot.
Or one might look a perturbations in engineering. There is the coke can demonstration. The professor gets a healthy, beefy guy to stand on one foot on a coke can which supports his weight. Amazing, no!
Then the prof taps the side of the can with a pencil and that little tap collapses the can.
Does General Milley or her boss Mrs. Austin know how elastic/inelastic recruiting, retention or moral are? I allege they do not.
10:41 is a MORON
One benefit to military enlistment that is frequently overlooked is access to the Veterans Administration Health System, where VA healthcare is available to all veterans at ridiculously low prices--or for free, if one has a service-connected disability.
The moron replied at 2:13. I think troops would rather have the impact of PTSD lessened in theater and ameliorated before getting back stateside for free medical care.
The discussion you fucking moron was not whether VA care is free. It was about how strays that are often found in a war zone anyway could help troops through the trauma of war.
Having been in a war zone and hear of the vets have a one size fits all response to all cats and dogs, I have real world experience in this matter.
Wanna try again moron?
Lol, lots of name calling without any examples or sources. Linked tweet says 3k to be discharged from over 400k in Army. Could be different, I'm all ears.
Elasticity
In economics, elasticity measures the percentage change of one economic variable in response to a change in another.
