Brazil's veteran leftist Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva has urged for 'peace and unity' after being elected president on Sunday by a hair's breadth, beating his far-right rival Jair Bolsonaro in a down-to-the-wire poll that split the country in two.

The former president, who won a third term in office, stood neck and neck with incumbent Bolsonaro throughout a nail-biting count, however he emerged victorious with 50.83 percent of the vote to 49.17 percent for his rival, according to election authorities who declared him the victor.

>10,000 vote difference out of 84 million? 1/100th of a percent? Not exactly a mandate. The fact that Biden already gave his rubber stamp makes this look all the more shady.

a win is still a win
if the other guy had won and trump congratulated would it look shady?

Is it a win?

Lulu is known for sophisticated corruption using middle men or cutouts to make the trail harder to follow.

Before 2020 I thought the most the Democrat party could steal in a state was 50,000 votes. My belief know is that Democrats can steal or manufacture 250,000 votes in a large state. It makes elections rather meaningless.

It would behoove a thieving oligarchs (US, Russia, elsewhere) that if they were going to enrich themselves and manipulate events so as to retain power that they would do basic things like make the trains run on time, make the subways safe, make infant formula available and keep inflation low at 0% to 3%.

Where your opponent wind nearly 49% of the vote is not a mandate especially in an era of massive fraud.

Fun Fact: An American heavy equipment manufacturer was or is thinking of offshoring production for the Americas to Brazil.

Just think of that. the tax and regulatory regime in the US is so exorbitant and onerous that it is cost effective to make a product in Brasil and pay transportation costs to the US.

Russia is not the only place with oligarchs with super yachts and other toys.
