Democrats will keep control of the Senate after multiple news organizations forecast on Saturday night that Catherine Cortez Masto would hold on to her seat.
It means Democrats have won 50 seats, enough to hold the majority with Vice President Kamala Harris's casting vote - and with one race still undecided in Georgia.
Cortez Masto beat Republican challenger Adam Laxalt, a former state attorney general who was endorsed by former President Donald Trump.

Mitch McConnel is a monster. Would like to use expletives, but maybe Monster Mitch will work better.
Several weeks ago it was known in the press that Mitch was at war with Trump and consequently Monster Mitch would not fund any candidates endorsed by Trump. This is know and has been known for a month or two before election day.
Mitch back Murkowski, who is as Republican a Liz Cheney. Backing Murkowski is a traitorous move.
The only time McConnell looked good and appeared to have the interest of the voters in his mind, is when he he shepherded Trump's judicial nominees through confirmation. That is it. that is the only good thing Republicans can say about Monster Mitch since about 2012. Trump worked form a list provided by the Republican party. He picked off that list Trump, played ball.
So Trump played ball and Mitch is trying to kill an Trump endorsed candidate with no funding or anemic funding.
The way things are going maybe Republicans outside of Kentucky should fraudulently vote by mail and unseat Mitch.
It has been reasoned that given the mechanics of voting that another national level Republican will never be elected. It means although DeSantis can draw crowds and is a capable executive, he would lose to demented Joe Biden 2024.
If voting is not cleaned up and the fraud squashed, then you candidate then end of the Republic to as early as the start of COVID and the illegal change of voting law. Secretary of states and others changed voting procedure, when it is stated in state constitutions and the federal constitution that that power rest with the legislature. You can argue until you are blue in the face and a loyal Democrat will not care. You can argue facts, but they care about fait accompli and power.
The Republic died during the 2020 election cycle.

I for one read and did not consider it enough. but now I believe the republic is dead. August kept the form (the semblance) of a Republic, but he was in charge of an empire run through a bureaucracy. You used to know on election night how things went. It was two or three days later at the most.
Now we have election season which is 1.5 to 2 months. If the Democrats do not get the results they want it might want there to be election quarter.
I think there should be a day of no work. That way everyone can go to the polls except for maybe truckers, sailors, airline pilots and military people. Maybe companies can work to minimize those away from home on voting day.
Veterans day is close to the 2nd Tuesday of November. Make Veterans day into voting day. dual hat it. On second though the parade goers might have a problem. Make voting day the day before veterans day and make it a 4 day weekend. The cease fire time was a stupid waste of life picked by people with an obsession for numbers bordering on numerology.
Voting month, voting season, voting quarter and mail in ballots by the gigaton has got to stop.
