F-35B Fighter Jet Pilot Ejects After Attempting To Land At Fort Worth Air Base

CBS DFW: F-35 fighter jet pilot ejected after attempted landing at Fort Worth naval air base

FORT WORTH, Texas (CBSDFW.COM) — A pilot was ejected during an attempted vertical landing at the Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base in Fort Worth this morning.

The aircraft, identified to CBS 11 as an F35 B Model used by the Marine Corps, was in the process of a vertical landing when the nose began to lean forward as the back wheels lifted up.

The front of the plane fell into the pavement, and smoke began pouring out of the nose before the pilot was ejected. His parachute deployed and he landed apparently without injury.

that's a fucking cool pilot, could have ejected earlier, however was hopeful/confident he could probably land it so it wouldn't be a write-off

hats to him

I thought maybe so too! He held on until it was righted before ejecting

Two B-2s and now a F-35 accident this week.

I ask again, does any one have any information of increased US Military aircraft exercises or movement?

Along with the subs, carriers and troop movements we have read about and discussed here on this blog.

These accidents could be another sign showing increased readiness drills or deployment or part of deployments and they are pushing the assets hard.

That could be.
Someone mentioned that the power seemed to be stuck at a high level of thrust that seemed to not want to disengage. What a story that pilot has--assuming he wasn't knocked senseless.

4 F35s flew over my house 2 days ago on final approach to Lakenheath. Boy were they loud. I heard them coming from miles away. So much for stealth... Keep ducking heh heh heh
