CNBC: Russia fumes at West’s decision to send tanks to Ukraine, says red lines have been crossed
* Russia expressed mounting fury at the prospect of modern Western tanks being sent to Ukraine.
* The Kremlin’s spokesman described it as an “absurd” plan that scuppers the prospect of talks to end the war.
* The Russian Embassy in Berlin called the German government’s decision “extremely dangerous” and said it “takes the conflict to a new level of confrontation.”
Russia expressed mounting fury at the prospect of modern Western tanks being sent to Ukraine, calling it “extremely dangerous” and saying previous “red lines” were now a thing of the past.
Germany announced earlier Wednesday that it was ready to send 14 Leopard 2 battle tanks to Ukraine, and to allow other countries to send their own German-made tanks to Kyiv.
The U.S. is also expected to announce its own intention to send Abrams tanks to Ukraine imminently.

"German tanks will burn I Russia" yes some will , bit you can bet each one will take dozens of T72 and T80 with it . There'd be Republican Guard veterans thinking oh boy ....
No not dozens. More like 10 to 1 ratio. That was the thought process back in the European war planning.
Caveat to that...That is with trained and proficient crews
If you going to send tanks and himars… next is going to be western jet fighters… going to be a long fight for Russia as the west is also really ramping up
All types of weapons production.
Also you have to remember that the IRG was using 1st gen T 72s with some upgrades and these vehicles, like most Iraqi equipment was very poorly maintained. Most of those tanks were in reality Junk.
Manned by idiots
You may be correct but it's probably best not contradict Tank Commander Fazman.
10 to 1 was Red storm rising planning, 91 showed 30 to 1 , 1000mt longer range , a generational gap in fire control, 90% kill at 60kmh on rough terrain , full night capability . 6.57 you just can't help yourself lol..stick to covid
The republican guard actually fought very well all things considered, and that came from a US Calvary commander . There was also the fleet of apaches that returned all shot up too shit.
The T72 are about the same as what the donbass militias have been given too play with

You are getting your facts mixed up. The IRG got slaughtered, mostly by AirPower, then arty, then tanks.
The Air CaV unit that got hit had nothing to do with IRG. It was the defenders of Karbala that did that to the helos. That helo unit made some arrogant mistakes and they got hammered for it.
And your gulf war facts are ok. But to be truthful, they were killing targets out to 4000m. This is past the expected M1 range. How is that possible? Well, that is what happens to guys who sit in the desert for 3 months and have nothing to do but train, without any distractions. You get really good at what you do.
But the kill ratios, I will say again, are skewed, when you go against the Arabs. They have really poor training, really poor maintenance and they were horribly outgunned. The Arab culture of "en shala". is a real detriment when it comes to efficiently and attention to detail.
This war in Europe will not be so easy. The kill ratio, if Nato is lucky, will be 10 to 1 maybe even lower.
Air power will be the big decider in your kill ratio. Now if you think the vaunted and troubled F35 is the end all, it may be. But t was just taken out of commission by the Israelis and like the Russian aircraft it will be facing, it has yet to be proven against a Tier 1 threat. So that whole air power fight is debatable. Add in that most of the battles will probably be done over ukie air space, which means the Russians will have more ADA coverage than NATO.
The West will not be inclined to take that aircraft into enemy territory without having air superiority. Why? Because if one of those machines is shot down, any and all parts will go back to enemy territory for re-engineering. So that will also effect tank kill ratio.
But anyway we will see how this goes.

It was IRG
In Nam we played war games with American boys dying, my cousin one of them. We never unleashed the dogs. We did open the gates of hell on Kuwait and Iraq, but not in Afghanistan. back to war games there. I'm thinking that maybe Russian strategy has been war games up to now, but Nato (US), is knocking on the gates of hell and Russia is gonna open the gates and unleash the hounds. if that happens, Russia showing us its true measure, we will know what is true about Russia one way or another.
Ron
yes and no.
read that link you sent.
The real story... Karbala was in constant black out every night
Going low ....Helos used the same route each and every night. That was a major no no. Yes then one night the lights came on and all hell broke loose.
The sig intercept info in the article was a nice touch . But the info was not relayed to the guys on the mission.
Were all these folks IRG? no most of IRG was pulled out or dead.....how?? , like I said. Aircraft and Arty were the heavy lifters in killing their tanks
But Yes , I will give you that they were in that zone too. But not long...They pulled out and headed back towards Baghdad.
Most of their tanks were killed by hellfire. That was the helo mission at the time. Fast mover and MLRS did work on them too.
have a good one!!
I agree , Leo and M1 will give the Russians a bloody nose that they haven't experienced. Avenger, Gerpard and croatle will provide mobile spit airdence against ka52 .
The airforce had pretty much fired from stand off safe distance since the 3rd month , stand off at ikraine mig 29 is o e thing , against tanks its another
