Well Phred, I have most of the same arguments before Trump (BT) as after Trump (AT).
So what is this about copying Trump's playbook?

Ukrainian pilots, however excellent and combat experienced, would need time to get trained in the F-16. Not to mention.....airspeed in knots instead of kilometers/hour in the F-16, and all the gauges in English; your brain has to translate at a very fast speed unless you think in English. I flew a few Russian aircraft and taking Russian in college helped, but meters and kilometers might as well be furlongs per fortnight when you are flying a fast mover. You don't want to take that handicap into combat. Another thing.....I flew the F-16 a few times and I did not like it. It is an excellent aircraft in many ways, but it has some 'help aids' to keep the pilot out of trouble that can be exploited by an opponent. Case in point; I flew a MIG-21 (my test pilot school final project aircraft) against an F-16 and could beat it in certain realms because of this F-16 'help aid'. Experienced F-16 pilots would not allow themselves to fall into that trap, but it is there, waiting like a mouse trap for a mouse for pilots who don't have enough training or experience in type.
