Jerusalem Post/Reuters: Rocket strike in Damascus hit Iranian military sites, experts, sources say
A rocket attack in Damascus on Sunday that Syria blamed on Israel hit an installation where Iranian officials were meeting to advance programs to develop drone or missile capabilities of Tehran's allies in Syria, sources told Reuters.
Iran has been a major backer of President Bashar al-Assad during Syria's nearly 12-year conflict. Its support for Damascus and the Lebanese group Hezbollah has drawn regular Israeli air strikes meant to curb Tehran's extraterritorial military power.
A source close to the Syrian government with knowledge of Sunday's strike and its target said it hit a gathering of Syrian and Iranian technical experts in drone manufacturing, though he said no top-level Iranian was killed.

I’m a U.S. veteran of Iraq and Afghanistan, and live and work in Alberta. I know and understand that Russians are human like you you and I, and have security concerns that they are worried about. I used to hate the Russians, we called our plastic target silhouettes Ivan’s in training. When my government and countrymen started calling me the enemy for being a straight, white, conservative male, I began to look elsewhere for reprieve. Russia stands up for itself, and today is more supportive of people like me than than the country I spent seven years of my life fighting for, And I don’t even speak Russian! We are very broken here, and very divided russia is a more admirable nation than ours, and I would gladly fight for them if it means citizenship: I am far from alone in this thinking, there are many in Canada and the United States who have become disenfranchised like myself.
