NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg Says ‘Time Is Now’ For Turkey To Approve Finland, Sweden

VOA: Stoltenberg: ‘Time Is Now’ for Turkey to Approve Finland, Sweden Joining NATO

NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg said Thursday “the time is now to ratify both Finland and Sweden” as new members of the alliance.

Speaking during a joint news conference in Ankara with Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, Stoltenberg said the main issue is not whether the two countries are ratified together, but that their ratification comes “as soon as possible.”

Çavuşoğlu said Turkey could evaluate the two bids separately.

Turkey and Hungary are the only NATO members that have not ratified Finland’s and Sweden’s accession in a process that must be unanimous.

lets see. next week it is thought Putin is going to ask the Russian parliment to declare war. NATO says the addition of these two countries as soon as possible. Hmmmmm. Russia says satellites used to give targeting info the Ukies are targets themselves. a declared war means no more proxy bullstuff it means everything is on the table. The USA says attacking satellites is a bridge too far. I'm not a Shamen but it seems to me the bones are reading that war is coming.

Turkey was blocking the Finnish and Swedish applications BEFORE the earthquake. Time for Turkey to shit or get off the pot. If it shits, then sanctions are in order. No more bullshit mind games.

It's not a mind game. From the Turkish POV Sweden has sponsors of terrorism embedded within it's govt and the Turkish military class will not tolerate the their intelligence data, which gets shared with every NATO member state as a hard rule, being sent to Sweden so that it can be passed along to the PKK.

Jenny Stoltenberg can stamp his feet every week and make this same declaration like he has for the past year. Unless Sweden makes concessions it's not happening.
