Russia Says Ukraine Preparing To Invade The Breakaway Region Of Transnistria In The Coming Days

Moscow Times: Russia Says Ukraine Preparing ‘Armed Provocation’ in Breakaway Transnistria

Ukraine is preparing an "armed provocation" against the breakaway region of Transnistria in neighboring Moldova and plans to "stage" an attack by Russian troops from the territory of the unrecognized republic, the Russian Defense Ministry said in its Telegram channel on Thursday.

"As a pretext for the invasion, the staging of a supposed attack by Russian troops from the territory of Transnistria is planned.

For this purpose, the Ukrainian saboteurs participating in the staged invasion will be disguised in the uniforms of the armed forces of the Russian Federation," the statement said.

The Russian Defense Ministry warned that it was "closely monitoring the situation" on the border between Ukraine and Transnistria — where some 1,500 Russian troops have been stationed since 1990 — and was "ready to respond to any changes in the situation."

WNU Editor: Ukraine President Zelensky has already announced Ukraine's readiness to help Moldova with Transnistria .... Zelenskyy announced Ukraine's readiness to help Moldova with Transnistria (New Voice Of Ukraine). And if this attack does happen, the view in the Kremlin is that the US green-lighted this attack and expansion of the war when President Biden was in Kyiv early this week.

A Ukraine invasion of of the Transnistria region is also going to expand the war to now include Moldova.

The Military Summary channels analysis on why Ukraine wants to seize this region and the consequences of such an incursion is spot on (see video below).

If the Russians were moving on Odessa and the Ukrainian war effort was collapsing with units fleeing to Romania, the Russian forces would act as an anvil. At which time WNU would have broken out the popcorn.

The Russian forces have contributed to the Russian war effort by complicating Ukraine's force deployment. While maybe not a major threat, they are a threat. Ukraine obviously has to waste forces to cover them or surveil them.

Transnistria is also a safe base for Russian spetsnaz or intel collection.

Transnitria also block resupply of of Ukraine form Romani force it along the coast or in a long route through the mountains.

Transnistria is to Moldova what Donbas was to Ukraine. Russia plays the ethnic card like a crybully, but never goes to the UN.

Russia must be stopped.

Good job WNU, once again you show yourself as a Putin follower, repeating Russia’s propaganda.

And Russia said they would not invade Ukraine and also said they had a top notch army… both big lies so stop believing what a known liar of a country says…

It would be pleasant to see a vote by the citizens involved. Not that that mattered in the past when Ukraine elected to be Ukraine but you know...just for fun. Just to see.

Too much of the vote would be based on "Who is on 1st (Who is winning), irredentism, ... and vary according to fortunes and not principle.

So the WNU Editor strategically fails to mention (nor has he seemingly reported on this at all) that Russia has ended it's 2012 decree that guaranteed Moldova's sovereign security.

So yes, everyone is worried as to why Russia did this and what Russia has in store.

And when did this happen?
