Russian President Putin's Address To The Federal Assembly

CNBC: ‘They started the war’: Russia’s Putin blames West and Ukraine for provoking conflict

* Western nations and Ukraine have repeatedly rejected Putin’s narrative.

* The U.S. administration on Saturday formally concluded that Moscow had committed “crimes against humanity” during its year-long invasion of its neighbor.

* Feb. 24 will mark one year since Russia mounted a large-scale invasion of Ukraine, beginning a ground war in Europe that Putin still refers to as a “special military operation.”

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday used a highly anticipated speech to deny responsibility for the war in Ukraine and lash out at his adversaries.

His comments come despite repeated rejections of Putin’s narrative surrounding the war by Western nations and Ukraine. Feb. 24 will mark one year since Russia mounted a large-scale invasion of Ukraine, beginning a ground war in Europe that Putin still refers to as a “special military operation.”

It usually takes about a day for their translators to provide Putin's speech in English. The BBC has mistranslated multiple sections of it in their live coverage and the rest of the western coverage isn't worth a damn. I will try to remember to post the full transcript here when it becomes available.

Brinkmanship. I'd say it's about all he's got. The once fearsome Russian army has been shown to be not so fearsome. Luckily for this guy the Ukranian population is much smaller.

Well, I didn't vote for him or the suited mummy in the U.S. so don't blame me.

They started it, we started it blah blah… Russia is the one who moved their soldiers to another countries land…now he met modern western weapons and seems to be crying about it weekly… easy fix,go back to your own land and russian soldiers stop dying… but Putin don’t care about Russian soldiers obviously.

This blog author has tried to frame this conflict that Russia was the victim, forced to act as a result of NATO interference and Western aggression. It's turned many of the readers of this blog (including me, who has been an avid viewer for many years now) against the editor whose ugly side has now been made quite apparent since the outbreak of hostilities (it was already starting to show well before the conflict).

Additionally he banned comments for awhile under a false pretense that never existed, and allowed them only once more once he could 'recruit' some like-minded Russian friends to combatively drown out the naysayers on his blog who had a problem with how he was framing the conflict.

It's a shame that this blog and by extension the editor has become just another casualty of Russian aggression.

I am an American but I support Russia and hope for their success. Here are my reasons:

I respect how Russia is standing up for the family unit, and trying to stop the same moral pollution that is destroying the West from within.

I respect how Russia is stopping the queer propaganda that makes the normal people in the West want to vomit. The media and Hollywood and big corporation like Disney are constantly rubbing our faces in degeneracy, turning their attention now on our children, encouraging them to seek sexual mutilation, presenting it as their civil right.

I respect how Russians seem clean cut in appearance, unlike the purple-haired, tattooed, pierced degenerates in the West.

I respect how Russia stood up for Christianity and jailed the Pussy Riot desecrators.

I respect how Putin pointed out the persecution of the white people occurring in the United States.

I am pretty disgusted what the USA has turned into.

Putin:

"However, they too realise it is impossible to defeat Russia on the battlefield and are conducting increasingly aggressive information attacks against us targeting primarily the younger generation. They never stop lying and distorting historical facts as they attack our culture, the Russian Orthodox Church and other traditional religious organizations in our country.

Look what they are doing to their own people. It is all about the destruction of the family, of cultural and national identity, perversion and abuse of children, including pedophilia, all of which are declared normal in their life. They are forcing the priests to bless same-sex marriages. Bless their hearts, let them do as they please. Here is what I would like to say in this regard. Adult people can do as they please. We in Russia have always seen it that way and always will: no one is going to intrude into other people’s private lives, and we are not going to do it, either.

But here is what I would like to tell them: look at the holy scripture and the main books of other world religions. They say it all, including that family is the union of a man and a woman, but these sacred texts are now being questioned. Reportedly, the Anglican Church is planning, just planning, to explore the idea of a gender-neutral god. What is there to say? Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.

Millions of people in the West realise that they are being led to a spiritual disaster. Frankly, the elite appear to have gone crazy, and it looks like there is no cure for that. But like I said, these are their problems, while we must protect our children, which we will do. We will protect our children from degradation and degeneration."

One thing I noticed was that President Putin's speech was very full of generalities and mostly empty of specifics. It seems he could have easily included more specifics, which would have made his address stronger.

I thought the Western media said Putin was dying, and about to be overthrown, etc.?

" Putin accuses NATO of direct involvement in attacks on Russia (RT). "

I believe there is an active sabotage campaign within Russia. Obama may have kicked it off, but having the CIA set up sleeper cells.

I say "So What"

Russia has been doing the same thing. So it is pot calling kettle black.

I can agree with a lot of that.
