* Moldova has faced coup attempt, 400 bomb hoaxes, and protests

* White House says Russia seeks to weaken regime and install pro-Moscow one

* Russians 'manufactured demonstrations'; U.S. stands by 'every step of the way'

The White House issued a public warning on Friday that Russian 'actors' who were tied to Russian intelligence are engaging an effort to 'destabilize' the country of Moldova through a 'manufactured insurrection.'

National security spokesman Adm. John Kirby told reporters the U.S. agreed with the assessment of Moldovan President Maia Sandu, who has issued her own warnings about Moscow-backed efforts to destabilize her country.

The former Soviet republic borders Ukraine and is located near the Black Sea port city of Odessa.

WNU Editor: Russia does not need to ferment an insurrection in Moldova. There are more than enough problems in Moldova to ferment unrest. The annual inflation rate is currently over 25% (link here). Everyone is experiencing sky-high energy prices (link here). There is also double-digit unemployment. No investment. And A shrinking GDP.

Update: After issuing a warning that Russia is trying to destabilize Moldova, Washington is offering to help .... US to help Moldova fight Russia's destabilization efforts (Reuters).

Self serving pap omitting part of the truth

Moscow does not need to, does not mean they won't add kindling to the fire.

Moscow did not have to fund Gus Hall and the American communist party. Communists were always going to exist in the US with or without Russia, but Moscow added to it.

moldova does not have a history of self determination and has been dominated by countries imposing authoritarianism. since their liberation from the soviets in 1991, they have not done well establishing a functioning government philosophy or free market system. So things are not going well. It would be natural, if things were better under the soviet thumb, for some to want to go back there. So Russia would be able to seed that into a color revolution.

what I do not know, is who invented the color revolution, us or the soviets. I know we are good at it but Russia has had success with it here in our country.

One of the reasons Moldova has "more than enough problems" is because of earlier interventions by Russia. Russia encouraged and supported the Transnistria separatists and has been supporting anti-reform and anti-Western political parties in Moldova since independence. If Russia had left Moldova alone, it probably would have resolved most of the problems it has today by this time just like the other countries in eastern Europe have.

So the idea that Russia is stoking up conflict in Moldova is neither far fetched or unlikely. It is a continuation of Russian policy for the past thirty years.

Country X (people Y) does not have a history of self determination unlike Germanic tribal councils, Roman Senate or Greek city states, because ethnocentrism blah blah blah.

Basically, any society that has a tribal council has the seeds of democracy.

What is the argument?. Germanic peoples had "Things", but other people's tribal councils have no possibility due to what ... brown skin?

"A thing, also known as a folkmoot, assembly, tribal council, and by other names, was a governing assembly in early Germanic society, made up of the free people of the community presided over by a lawspeaker. "

You all are blind or have willfully decided to look the other way.

This is not the Russians. The Russians have about zero to gain here. As a matter of fact, it would be extremely dangerous for them to cause problems in Moldavia.
A. There is no way to significantly re enforce thier troops in the Transniester. These troops would be trapped and trying to send renforcements by air or ground is what NATO wants. It is a trap. It would be a slaughter for the Russians.
B. You are blind and cannot connect the dots. What is happening in Georgia now? How about Hungary with Sammy powers? This is part of the "death by 1000 paper cuts" strategy.
C. While your enemy has his focus in one area, you cause trouble in others. The slow weakening of the adversary.

I swear some of you all must be GS 4 psyop moles working in a cubicle. You replies are fine tuned narrative non sense.

Just like Nord stream.
