Maritime right of way:

• “In a crossing situation, the vessel which has the other to port has right of way.”

• “In an overtaking situation, the vessel being overtaken has the right of way.”

• “A vessel which can only operate in a narrow channel has right of way over a vessel crossing the channel.”

• “A vessel conforming to a traffic separation scheme has right of way over a vessel crossing the scheme.”

This maybe an excuse to biatch slap the Mullahs.

the boarding happening just north of Muscat and with IRGC continuously harassing boats, It does not on first blush look to be Iranian merchant scow that was hit but one of the Iranian fast attack patrol boats. Things are awful sketchy, but t is the Iranians so it is not going out on much of a limb.

The is an unwritten maritime rule of road. It is the law of gross tonnage. Everyone understand it. Some tankers can take a really long time to stop.

"How Long does It Take a Supertanker to Stop? - WikiMotors"

"It takes about 20 minutes for a fully loaded supertanker to stop when traveling at normal speed. In emergency situations, some can perform a "crash stop" maneuver, which can cut the time down to 14 minutes. The reason supertankers, also known as oil tankers, take so long to stop is the huge amount of momentum they build up as they sail."

The Ayatollahs may not know this as they are stuck in the 7th century or the time, when Chimps and mankind diverged.
