Politico: To counter Russia in Africa, Biden deploys a favored strategy
As in the weeks before the Ukraine invasion, the U.S. is sharing what it knows about Putin and his paramilitary force.
As Russia’s paramilitary organization, the Wagner Group, expands its presence in African countries, the Biden administration is pushing back with one of its prized tactics: sharing sensitive intelligence with allies in Africa in an attempt to dissuade countries from partnering with the group.
The administration has used this tactic with increasing frequency, including in the months leading up to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in 2022. It serves the dual function of alerting allies to looming threats and placing adversaries on notice that the U.S. knows what they’re doing.

In the past it was charitable if not always humble for doctors to fly from the US to some poor country and conduct surgeries for Cleft lip and other maladies. I would say most if not all did it for the right reasons. Might have been some apple burnishing, but you will get that. If that is your biggest worry, the world most be going pretty good.
Since about the turn of the century such trips have stopped of become far fewer. It has become passé. The new paradigm is you train foreign doctors, who might not have had the training at university and afterwards, and they perform all the cleft lip and similar surgeries.
Why should this paradigm not apply to Africa militarily?
My biggest concern is Muslim jihadists in Nigeria, Mali, CAR, Mozambique and Eastern Congo. If the African Union can take care of those with a little help from advisors and some hardware like comms gear and drones, things should be left alone by the China, US and Russia.
But having advisors in various countries is problematic. Each brick house they live in will be counted as a base by propagandists such as WNU. Every year when The Gourdian or some of mouth piece runs their yearly base count article, WNU will parrot it like good boy.
WNU will also wag a finger anytime any soldier, who has had the least bit of training from an US advisor launches a coup. They will launch a coup regardless if the US is there or not. But why ask why 5 times. does not fit the narrative.
