as far as the story about Russian forces learning anything. what they learned is if they attack they will die. So they have learned to be a static defensive army. So 1917 of them.
as far as the story about the four villages the Ukrainians have captured, I wonder how much cleansing of collaborators will occur in those towns. History will write about it one day.
