Washington Post: U.S. had intelligence of detailed Ukrainian plan to attack Nord Stream pipeline
Three months before saboteurs bombed the Nord Stream natural gas pipeline, the Biden administration learned from a close ally that the Ukrainian military had planned a covert attack on the undersea network, using a small team of divers who reported directly to the commander in chief of the Ukrainian armed forces.
Details about the plan, which have not been previously reported, were collected by a European intelligence service and shared with the CIA in June 2022.
They provide some of the most specific evidence to date linking the government of Ukraine to the eventual attack in the Baltic Sea, which U.S. and Western officials have called a brazen and dangerous act of sabotage on Europe’s energy infrastructure.

I dont know, possibly out of spite maybe, but the Ukraine does not benefit from it, the US is benefiting from destroying these pipelines.
I believe that Russia destroyed the dam. The result of the destruction benefits Russia in that it totally blocks land access to Crimea from the north and west.
Or, we are to believe that Ukrainian commandos, inserted weeks prior, set valves to bring the reservoir depth to 60 feet over weeks, trucked in explosives to knock down those massive pylons, dump 38,000 barrels of oil and flood a large portion of the most fertile cropland on the planet and then escape without a trace. All under Russian guard.

We have been over this a dozen times. Motive Opportunity and Ability. The Ukies do not have the technical or logistical capability to do this kind of operation. They do not have the equipment nor experience to go down that deep and move that much explosive at that depth nor the equipment to go that deep and do proper diver decompression.
