.... The issue of how to define Ukraine’s future in the alliance has overtaken a second question, how to come up long-term security assurances for Ukraine. Mr. Biden’s aides are telling members of Congress they want to move to something akin to what they call “the Israel model,” which has a 10-year-long security commitment with the United States.
While Ukraine’s would almost certainly be shorter, the idea, administration officials say, would be to convince Mr. Putin that the flow of arms and training to Kyiv will not flag — and to bleed some of the politics out of episodic debates about how much aid to commit to Ukraine in the next six months or a year.
This is the second time that the Western media is pushing out this trial balloon of an "Israeli model" for Ukraine. The first time was last month .... NATO Discussing Security Model for Ukraine like Israel's – WSJ (European Pravda).
As to what is my take.
The U.S. security model for Israel has resulted in decades of war and conflict between Israel and its neighbors. But this model, if applied to Ukraine, will result in the utter destruction of the country. The Russians, when it comes to war, are not like the Arabs.

I cannot read the NYT article and the RT one is typically vague. What exactly is the difference being proposed? Haven’t the Biden admin already vowed to continue sending aid no matter what? Is the purpose of an officially signed agreement to ensure that aid flows continue no matter what the people may want or who they elect? If so that seems terribly undemocratic.
1. the agreemenht between US and Israel has not resulted in years of war. It has enabled Israel to withdatand and fight its enemies for a long time. Thus, it is NOT a cause of war.
2. to say it will result in the utter destruction of Ukraine is to imply that if there is NOT an agreement Ukraine will fight a long time with a great deal of losses. On the other hand, this agreement will indicate to Russia that they simply can not count on eating down Ukraine over a long period of time.
3. The Russians, we are told here, are not like the Arabs. No. And a number of Arab states are no longer going to attack Israel. The biggest Arab enemy was Egypt and now they have an understanding with Israel.
4. Ukraine will not accept that Israel-like arrangement if it means they can not become a member of Nato.
