Ukraine President Zelensky Wants The U.S. And The EU To Pay For Ukraine's Elections

CBS: Zelenskyy won't hold Ukrainian elections without 'financial support' from US, EU

KYIV, Ukraine. (TND) — Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is demanding more aid from his country’s allies, saying it will be unable to properly hold an election otherwise.

The statement came in an interview published by Zelenskyy’s office Sunday, in which the president named the ongoing war with Russia and martial law as significant factors preventing an election.

“I told him: if the United States and Europe give us financial support... I'm sorry, I will not hold elections on credit, I will not take money from weapons and give it to elections either,” Zelenskyy said, recalling a conversation with Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C. “But if you give me this financial support, if the parliamentarians realize that we need to do this, then let's quickly change the legislation and, most importantly, let's take risks together.”

Another WNU Zelensky is a bad guy, because Ukraine is broke, since Russia invaded it.

When another country invades, blows up infrastructure and the rest, tax revenues tend to go down.

Must be a news flash to WNU.

More likely, he is gaslighting and trying to see how many rubes he can trick.

Macron and Scholzomatic are welfare party politicians. It is how they get elected and maintain their base of power. They do not think in terms of Genghis Khan conquest. So WNU is actually paying them a compliment.

have some respect. It is hard making a living as a gaslighter. One day WNU will be as good as Jean Pierre.

@1:01 PM

His correspondence at the onset of the Ukraine invasion was eye-opening.

Russia invades Ukraine and makes a complete balls of it, gets bogged down for 6 months until they retreat, losing massive amounts of manpower.

WNU > "Oh that's just how the Russians operate. Mass swarm tactics. The initial waves are just a starter into what's to come. That's not a retreat, that's a tactical withdrawal." Etc etc.

Ukraine's counter-offensive on the other hand...

WNU > "Reeks of incompetence and tactical mistakes, making no headway." Etc etc.

I still remember how he predicted the war would be over quickly at Russia's initial invasion, in his own words, based on the vast majority of Russian-Ukrainians who are against the Ukraine government.

He's still waiting for these Russian-Ukrainian supporters to overthrow Zelensky...

A group of Russian soldiers fighting in Ukraine have threatened to abandon their posts unless a hazardous landfill in their home region in southern Russia is closed down, media reported Monday.

I thought Britain started the war in 2014 when MI6 organised a successful coup to get rid of the democratically elected president.

"This centred around Yanukovych's decision, amidst economic pressure from Russia, to withdraw from signing an association agreement with the EU and instead accepting a Russian trade deal and loan bailout. This sparked mass protests against Yanukovych."

It is not like the motherfckering Russian pressured anyone now is it!

"However, his years in power saw what analysts described as democratic backsliding, which included the jailing of Tymoshenko, a decline in press freedom[8] and an increase in cronyism and corruption"

And it is not like Russia poisoned an Ukrainian president or anything???

"Yushchenko became seriously ill in early September 2004. He was flown to Vienna's Rudolfinerhaus clinic for treatment and diagnosed with acute pancreatitis, accompanied by interstitial edematous abnormalities, due to a serious viral infection and chemical substances
...
On 27 September 2009, Yushchenko said in an interview aired on Channel 1+1 that the testimony of three men who were at a dinner in 2004 at which he believes he was poisoned is crucial to finishing the investigation, and he claimed these men were in Russia. Ukrainian prosecutors said Russia has refused to extradite one of the men"

If you were Viktor Yanukovych you would do as Moscow want also. The alternative is to end up like Viktor Yushchenko.

Why do we in the US have to foot this bill?! Maybe NATO members should pay their 2%, grow testes and send equipment, soldiers and money?!

Sadly, I guess its a good thing there is nothing left in Maui for the good people (and I think US citizens) to spend that $700 Uncle Sam gave them SMH

the 700 was jusrt for food and drink for each family. there is a lot more aid coming via FEMA. But what would you know?

Why are we fighting Ukraines war and how long can this go on?

I'm guessing that what he implies is that maybe they would have done something big day 1 and first hour.

But I guess ALL transport capacity for emergency equipment and aid was focused to the west and not east.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was quoted saying that U.S. contributions were needed for voting.

A fuller statement is needed to understand what was said. Context is missing in the post where this story appears.

And nowhere does it say 5 billions either... So Russian Propaganda then... Interesting..

Z man does not want an election, it is a pain in the ass and takes away money that he needs for his retirement. Polls who will run against hime.. In the freely democratic Ukraine all opposition parties have been banned. So an election would be a shame.

Its a joke

AS FOR The EDITORS COMMENTS ... You guys are saying things I have not seen here. Maybe you all are looking at a different blog? or maybe you enjoy gas lighting? Russians used swarm tactics?

No, not even close. They tried a US style operation of joint force projection and got hammered by thier own incompetence.

That is why they are fighting the way they are now. Let the ukies come in against a defence and get slaughtered. In about another nine months zeleinski will have to send in little kids and old men.
