Reuters: Iran's Khamenei says Tehran was not behind Hamas attack on Israel

DUBAI (Reuters) - Tehran was not involved in the militant Hamas group's weekend attack on Israel, Iran's top authority Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said on Tuesday, but hailed what he called Israel's "irreparable" military and intelligence defeat.

"We kiss the hands of those who planned the attack on the Zionist regime," said Khamenei, who was wearing a Palestinian scarf, in his first televised speech since the attack.

"This destructive earthquake (Hamas' attack) has destroyed some critical structures (in Israel) which will not be repaired easily ... The Zionist regime's own actions are to blame for this disaster," said Khamenei.

WNU is as good as the Washington Post. That girl needs a dress.

Washington Post ran a story about the American dead. In the title they mentioned how many were dead. In the first sentence of the article they mentioned that the dead were during a time of war. They never mentioned who killed them.

What is a person to assume? that the Israelis killed them or that Hamas and Israelis killed an equal number? they leave the question unanswered. It is ambiguous. If they came out in the Headline or 1st Paragraph that it was all due to Hamas and it was a war crime from day one, from H hour, well people might get the wrong idea and blame Hamas

"Hamas is denying an Iranian involvement ...." That is the best WNU can do?

Something like 75% of Hamas's funding comes from Iran. that is Hamas could only field 25% of their military without Iran's generosity.

But All that can be had from WNU is what every other MSM organization is putting out there.

Whether they had a role or not for Israel at this point it makes no difference.Since the obvious will be said 'If Hamas can do this while under surveilance then what can Hezbo or Iran do?'.Israel has the same mood as the US after 9/11.Actually worse since this event has reawakened the spectre of the Holocaust. So the israelis will soon say 'can we afford a tense peace?'.Iran knows this but it may not care anymore.

There are smuggling tunnels from Egypt to Gaza strip. Since Israel no longer controls the border there, there is nothing they can do.

1) That Iran sends weapons including rockets to Gaza between outbreaks of fighting is known.
2)that Hamas will attack every so often is known.

Egypt probably turns a blind eye to the smuggling. When did Egypt tell Israel versus how long has Egypt known? How did Egypt word it? You can play games with "But I gave you are warning" Did Egypt know at high noon and tell Israel at the 11th hour? That is a "We're on your side, honest!" sort of help that is a day late and a dollar short.

Iran and China have figured out how to find people using cellphones and other means. It makes it much harder to have people report form Gaza. After Iran rolled up some networks a few years back, it replicated it in Lebanon wit its Hezbollah allies. Of course they would do the same with Hamas.
