The U.S. Infrastructure To Build Navy Ships Is Lacking

Forbes: The U.S. Navy Might Buy Small Aircraft Carriers—But Who’s Going To Build Them?

The U.S. Navy’s existing amphibious assault ships, doubling as “light carriers,” are all the fleet needs to back up its full-size supercarriers, the service’s top air-warfare officer said last week.

Left unsaid was one major reason why the Navy might just shrug and make do with the vessels it already has, or plans to build, in the near future.

Shipyard capacity.

It might help if they didn't try to reinvent the wheel with every damn ship class. The infatuation with less crew and more autonomy is what is killing the Navy.

They are demanding/designing super hi-tech, super expensive, super fragile glass hulks. The new ships can't complete sea trials, much survive an actual battle. Damage control is a lost art.

You need men who are fit and trained and determined fight the ship as intended. To repair and to refit as needed. To fight sick. To fight hurt.

Not males who are trained press a button and then hope it works. And then not be able to fix it when it doesn't. And also not be distracted with the current pandemic of WOKE-ism that has paralyzed traditional combat capability and readiness.

I've said virtually the same thing on here before. You don't need latest and greatest. Just a solid platform that is recent enough, that is known to work, that can be churned out.

It's the same for the air as it is for the sea. You won't have depth in the forces if you keep building the latest and greatest, because you can only afford a few of them...

Remember Anthony Bourdain’s advice

In typical Bourdain fashion, when asked by author and entrepreneur Richard Reed for one piece of advice to share with the world for his book, “If I Could Tell You Just One Thing,” Bourdain listed 8 things.

In addition to being kind to waitstaff and a few other points, Bourdain ended his list by giving a piece of advice that can seriously help boost your likability factor — “Don’t be a dick!”

If I’ve learned anything in life, it’s that dicks come in all sorts of shapes and sizes. But from living all over the world, there are a few commonalities that link them together.

For starters, looking down on people is a typical dick move. Regardless of color, race, culture, or background, all people want to be acknowledged and treated with respect.

Speaking poorly of others is also a giant dick quality. But here’s an interesting bit of science that may get you to think before you speak. According to the phenomenon — spontaneous trait inference — how you describe other people is how other people see you. So if you speak poorly of others, people will think poorly of you.

Gossiping, lying, being a one-upper or an over-interruptor, and being negative all the time round out a lot of the traits that turn most people off from what I’ve gathered.

So if you want to boost your likability, take note of these behaviors and try to limit them. Of course, not doing them doesn’t automatically make you likable, but it sure helps.

Anon posted a most excellent comment at 7:13 AM. Succinctly put.

7:36 tries a bit of triangulation. FO! You criticize style when you cannot contest one point of substance. AWAY WITH YOU!

My belief is that many if not most of them are the way thy are is because people were not nice, they are delusional, or they thought the grass was greener on the other side. I also think some of them pull their stunts just to make it to 20.

"The new ships can't complete sea trials, much less survive an actual battle. Damage control is a lost art."

Yup, that set me off. 7:36 regale us with a tale of the great DC by the officers of THE USS Fitzgerald. You can't, so FO!

Look at the picture at the link below and tell me those transsexuals below are with in height and weigh standards, could pass damage control training, or you would feel safe with them in a combat situation. DO IT! Lie to us!

Biden Signs Executive Order to Make Transgender Surgery Free for Military on Taxpayer Dime

It is not only bad ship design given economic realities, it is being able to "FIGHT the SHIP!"

"Fighting the ship is a bit of Navy lingo for manning the ship in a battle"

Tell me that trannies would be able to fight the ship.

LIE! GO AHEAD LIE. You are good for it. Cheetahs are born to run and you are born to lie.

3 Points on Bordain's advice

1) IT is pretty good advice.
2) There is an inflection point. There is a downside to likability. Sometimes you need a person to tell you exactly like it is. It am reading about LBJ's Blowtorch. He had an abrasive personality, but to me he was just what was needed at the time.
3) Anthony committed suicide. It puts a question mark on his advice.

ANON 7:35

A) Led Zeppelin - Stairway To Heaven is Kamala's Song

" And she's buying the stairway to Heaven"

Willie Brown admits it: Kamala Harris slept her way to the top

https://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2020/08/willie_brown_admits_it_kamala_harris_slept_her_way_to_the_top.html#ixzz6slXSJtf7

So yes HUSSY! She did not get one vote in the Democrat primaries.

"Harris officially withdrew her candidacy on December 3, 2019."

B) Joe is demented. There is something wrong with you, when you would rather be likable than truthful when things are so serious.

C) Obama is the shikken. Shikken is not a swear word or a putdown. It is a statement of fact and an allusion.

D) Joe is a zero. He is President Puppet. He is literally trotted out and made to read a script. The script is dumbed down like a McDonald's cash register with pictures. And yes the people around him are idiots. Lain might be a grifting, schmoozing, likable, rich idiot but he is still and idiot. So is Obama. We saw Michelle's thesis although they tried to block it. We know why they blocked it. We have not seen Obama's college thesis, because it would remove all doubt. We would know he is an idiot.

If Obama was so bright, why have they not released his college thesis?

E) You propose fighting the ship with trannies? If they were capable of fighting hard, they would not have transitioned. I should have stuck with the economic and technical aspects of ship building. However, after reading about the USS Fitzgerald and other crap in the last 3 months that was not going to happen. Add to it "much survive an actual battle. Damage control is a lost art." which does not mean a thang to you but it does to people that know sticking to economics and tech is not going to happen.

More copy and paste madness by a person so predictable that we know what time to get him up and tuck him into bed.

Russ in So Cal-YES, to all you said, but you left out the following US Navy weaknesses:

* Woke Admirals more concerned with political correctness than winning wars
* Leadership selected based on affirmative action rather than merit
* women in leadership roles when by their nature they are unfit to command
* Homosexuals and transvestites in the ranks and officers corps ruining morale
* young sailors entering service are communist sympathizers due to public school indoctrination

In the next big war (with China likely), the US Navy is going to get destroyed, leading to the collapse of the USA

Thank Democrats Clinton and Obama for all of this.

I don't agree with the following two statements.

* women in leadership roles when by their nature they are unfit to command
* Homosexuals and transvestites in the ranks and officers corps ruining morale

In regards to women it depends on how it is handled.

In regards to tranvestites, they are and will ruin the military. I don't think homosexuals will. I think it is good DADT is gone form the standpoint that it is no longer blackmail material for the Chinese, Russians or others.

Homosexuality is not something that can be or should be beaten into submission. The beatings were part of the problem. Now it is the recruitment and pseudo science. It is something that is just going to fade away in the next two generations.

Some of the best E5 (clerk, air traffic controller, ... ) and others I have seen were gay or thought they were gay. I've seen an O5 go to bat for a guy. They were repulsed by homosexuality. The guy made a mistake and yet they tried to keep him in the service. The first thru fourth level of management tried to keep the guy. It was not to be.
