How Long Does It Take Terrorist Groups To Claim Responsibility? -- John Hudson, Passport/Foreign Policy
One reason many are speculating that the Boston Marathon bombing was the work of a "home-grown" or "lone-wolf" terrorist is the absence of a foreign terrorist group claiming responsibility for yesterday's tragedy. But how long does it typically take foreign terrorists to own up to plots on American soil?
If history is any guide, claims of responsibility are not immediate.
For instance, many may forget the precise sequence of events following the 2001 terror attacks on the World Trade Center. But Osama bin Laden didn't officially take responsibility for the attack until late October 2001 -- almost two months after the assault.

My Comment: Claiming responsibility will only entail a quick (and probably deadly) U.S. response. If you want to be alive best to keep this info among your followers and allies and let the U.S. be faced with the dilemma on what to do. We have already seen this new method of claiming responsibility after the terror attack on the U.S. Benghazi consulate last year. It was obviously from the beginning that this was a large and well coordinated scale attack .... an attack that no one has still claimed responsibility for. But among Libyans and Jihadist groups .... there is an understanding of who did this (i.e. Sufyan bin Qumu, a former Guantanamo Bay detainee and head of Ansar al Shariah ... who was also actually shot this past Sunday .... talk about a coincidence).
