Iran's Only Producing Nuclear Power Plant Damaged Following Last Months Earthquakes

Cracks In Iran’s Nuclear Reactor Facility Following Quakes – Diplomats -- RT

Iran’s only power producing nuclear reactor in Bushehr was damaged by earthquakes which struck Iran over April and May, diplomats told AP. Cracks have reportedly appeared in at least one section of the structure.

Several meters long cracks appeared at one concrete section of the facility, claimed diplomats from countries monitoring Iran’s nuclear program. The cracks however were not visible around the highly-radioactive reactor core, the said.

My Comment: I commented a few months ago on how a crisis at the Bushehr nuclear plant can bring about catastrophe in the entire region. Cracks in the containment vessel would mean that one of the essential safety requirements have been compromised. The only way to insure that the situation is stable is to permit UN inspectors in .... but Iran has consistently said no. This is a breaking news story, we will update it as more news becomes available.

Very skeptical of this story, mainly due to "diplomats told AP" who may have an agenda here.
