Massive Protests In Brazil Against The President And The Governing Party

Washington Post: Hundreds of thousands protest throughout Brazil

RIO DE JANEIRO — Hundreds of thousands of Brazilians filled streets across the country Sunday to protest corruption and call for the impeachment of deeply unpopular President Dilma Rousseff and the jailing of her predecessor, Luiz InĂ¡cio Lula da Silva.

Protests were reported in every state in Brazil.

Wearing yellow and green Brazil national soccer team shirts and singing the national anthem, protesters denounced a multibillion-dollar corruption scandal involving bribes and kickbacks on fat contracts at the state-run oil company, Petrobras. That scandal has seen politicians from Rousseff’s Workers’ Party and its coalition allies jailed.

It was the fourth time in a year that protesters filled city streets across Brazil, and indications were that numbers were higher than before. At least 450,000 people filled Sao Paulo’s central Paulista Avenue — more than in 1984 human rights march that helped bring about the fall of Brazil’s dictatorship, the Datafolha polling institute reported.

I remember all the upper class school kids who were upset over the murder of journalists back in the day.

They are all grown up now and they will not cut Dilma any slack.

Dilma might have more experience and knowledge to rule than say Maduro or Kirchner, but whatever she has is not enough.

What impressed me about Rousseff was her time at Porto Alegre.
Then again it must have been the easiest city to run IMHO. I do not put any stock in her college education or time on the run. IMO it was misspent and miseducation.
