Jerusalem Online: Mossad chief ‘100 percent certain’ Iran is seeking nuclear bomb, report says
In a closed meeting with senior officials, Mossad director Yossi Cohen reportedly called the Iran nuclear deal a mistake that would enable Tehran to achieve its vision and develop an arsenal of nuclear weapons.
Head of Israel’s Mossad agency Yossi Cohen is reportedly “100 percent certain” that Iran is committed to developing its nuclear weapons program. He also believes that the nuclear deal with Tehran must either be changed or entirely scrapped. Cohen had apparently made the comments during recent sessions on the topic with senior officials.
According to an AP report on Wednesday, Cohen called the nuclear deal a “terrible mistake” in discussions behind closed doors and said it allows the Islamic republic to keep parts of its nuclear program intact. Cohen had also stressed that Iran will be able to enrich enough uranium for an entire arsenal of nuclear weapons in the future, an anonymous source told the news agency. In addition, the intelligence chief claimed that easing sanctions on Iran resulted in the increased aggression of the republic, namely its development of long-range ballistic missiles.
