China Confirms That The Missing Interpol Chief Meng Hongwei Is Under Investigation, And That He Has Resigned

ABC News Online: Missing Interpol chief Meng Hongwei under investigation, China's anti-corruption watchdog says

China's anti-corruption watchdog says it is investigating Meng Hongwei, who heads the global law enforcement organisation Interpol, for suspected violations of the law.

Mr Meng, 64, who is also Vice-Minister of Public Security in China, had been reported missing after travelling from France, where Interpol is based, to China.

"Public Security Ministry Vice-Minister Meng Hongwei is currently under investigation by the National Supervisory Commission for suspected violations of law," the Chinese anti-corruption body said in a brief statement on its website.

The Chinese government could indict anyone of citizens for corruption or some other crime.
Methinks this is BS. They want an excuse to cage an honest law enforcement officer. They are afraid that he would treat China the same as other countries.

Sad to say the same is true on Russia, America, Canada, and other Western countries.

Marie LePenn comes to mind as does Trump, Kavanaugh and others.

Its my surmise that "Public Security Ministry Vice-Minister Meng Hongwei" is now compost.

If he resings then he not expECTED BACK AT WORK IN fRANCE.

Because if he were in France, the Chinese govt. would have to formally submit a formal extradition for his return. They would have to list his crimes and people would pick apart a bogus filing.

So the totalitarian govt says he resigned.

The Europe trash roll over and do not protest except for perhaps meekly.

You expect the woman with loins who rules Germany or the lavender Prince of France to standup to China.

Don't expect femme boy who could call on the Force de Frappe to do anything.

Interpol like many international bodies is a French creation. The Perfumed Prince will not defend it. He will allow Xo to wizz all over Interpol.

Even though I don’t like how Anon worded it. I think his premise is correct.

I wonder what he has on who.

Sorry about that Black dog, but I feel very strongly about Left of Center politicians on either side of the pond.

If what Mr. And Mrs Macron did 25 years ago had happened in the last 5 or 10 years in the US, Mrs. Macron would be in jail.

I've read where numerous journalists and politicians in Denmark were very friendly with the KGB during the Cold War. The records are sealed and 'people' want it that way. They would not want to public to draw any correct inferences about political parties. IMO Denmark is not unique.

One has to wonder about Merkel as well. Would she be so blase about immigration if she had grand daughters?

No worries Anon. I enjoy opinions from the left or the right, as long as it is logical and civil . And that definitely wasn’t the most uncivil thing I have read here. And I believe your logic is sound . Being a US citizen I believe the pendulum must swing back-and-forth there for keeping the balance.

When the story broke, I foretold China will accuse him of corruption. A few days later, aaand here we go:
https://edition.cnn.com/2018/10/08/asia/interpol-president-china-meng-hongwei-corruption-intl/index.html

He is likely being tortured for the last few days in one of China 's infamous sleep deprivation blocks, where they keep you awake for up to 2weeks straight and intimidate you with roundups as soon as your eyes close (so you have constant minute nightmares). Some die of heart attack. But hey, the world keeps ignoring what China does. ...the head of Interpol. Let that sink in.

He'll appear on camera soon, I think, and then openly admit his crimes. That will be his end in a labour camp. Perhaps death.

Why? Likely accused for spying. Fiese torture and kill suspected spies and have killed dozens of American spies over the last decade.

What do we do with Chinese spies?

Give them a 7-8 figure salary in silicon valley and promote them to be accepted at ivy leagues. That's how we treat them. Until we start fighting back, we're losing. I hope Trump will immediately fight fire with fire and invoke death penalty for Chinese spies. They've already weakend us and stolen worth trillions. Time to stop it where it hurts
