Bloomberg: Navy Boss to Trump: ‘Fire Me’ If $13 Billion Carrier Isn’t Fixed

Navy Secretary Richard Spencer says he told President Donald Trump to fire him if he can’t fix the weapons elevators on the service’s new $13 billion aircraft carrier.
“We’ll see if I’m here after August,” Spencer said at a conference Tuesday when asked about the status of the 11 elevators on the USS Gerald R. Ford that are needed to lift munitions from below-deck magazines for loading on jets.

Spencer, a former investment banker, said he made the offer during a chat with Trump about the carrier’s technology at the annual Army-Navy football game last month.

Three free lessons:
1. Trump can fire you even if they work and he likes to remind people of just that
2. You shouldn't announce a condition to you keeping your job like that either. A lot of competition will right now think: Hmmmmmm
3. Before you fool made that announcement I completely forgot that they don't work. Now a lot of bad and stupid news around your name.
Rookies be rookies. China has them. Russia has them. And for sure the US has them, as this guy just proved
I love seeing govt workers getting fired. Compared to private workers, the feds are over paid, over compensated with pensions and aren't accountable due to civil service protections. Private companies routinely let go the bottom 10% every year. The bottom 10% in the federal civil service are immune from being let go.
So good for Spencer, set an example for the Trump administration.
