President Donald Trump announced a national emergency on the border on Friday, a move calculated to allow him to spend $8 billion building his wall after signing a bill to avoid a second government shutdown after a bitter standoff with Congress.
He signed the declaration behind closed doors prior to a Rose Garden announcement, which he delayed while he met with women whose children were either killed by illegal immigrants or died because of drug cartels.
'We're going to be signing today, and registering, national emergency. And, it's a great thing to do, because we have an in of drugs, invasion of gangs, invasion of people, and it's not acceptable,' the president said.

Bobby the 911 hijackers did not sneak across the southern border. Other terrorists have. And other terrorists could. Just because terrorists, who are operational, have not been know to have come across in awhile does not mean that that avenue can be neglected.
In the near future terror groups and countries might consider airports too dangerous as a point of entry due to facial recognition software and AI. So the southern border could hot up.

Given the state of the Union, you could build a wall around the whole country and if that wall were to keep the rest of the world out and Americans in, the world would be a safer place, but given its inglorious past, it wouldn't take long for America to self destruct from its own terroristic nature. They put on a big show but utlimatly the Democrats kowtow to the Republican agenda on the major issues because they all work for the same moneyed folk. If he had the balls Trump has he would have followed through on his order to close GITMO that he so gallantly bragged about to the UN General Assembly but he didn't.
