Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is under mounting pressure after his former justice minister released documents relating to a major corruption scandal.

Former Justice Minister Jody Wilson-Raybould says government officials tried to persuade her to shield SNC-Lavalin from prosecution.

Wilson-Raybould made public around 40 pages of documents revealing more details of what she said were attempts by officials to force her change her mind even after she insisted they desist.

WNU Editor: This release of a secret recording is damaging to Prime Minister Trudeau's narrative on this scandal. It contradicts what he and his staff have been saying, and it only adds to the case that the Prime Minister intervened into a criminal case to protect a major Canadian company. I do not see how he can recover from it, and with Canadians going to the polls in 7 months, there is now a very good chance that he will be defeated in the polls.

Who in Canada is positioned to make a run at Trudeau?

/BTW he sure surrounds himself with some homely women...

Good thing Obama took his victory lap in the year after Trumps's election. If he took it now or a year from now would any major G& leader sit with him?

I think his wife picks the people that surround him. His dad, while PM, dated the likes of Barbara Streisand so she needs to keep a tight hold on the son.

Power is usually a family affair.

Whether the the husband is a figurehead or the wife is the power behind the throne, this power block, this oligarchy, has made bad decisions and must go.

Canadians vote out a government as opposed to voting one in. Trudeau got in last time because people were tired of the Harper's conservative government and wanted MJ legalized, something Trudeau promised to do, and did. He recently mentioned hand gun control, maybe trying that candy as bait for the next election.

In our parliamentary system with three/four parties on the go Liberal/Conservative/New Democratic Party/Green Party (albeit only ever having one elected), in the absence of a suave opponent there could be a minority government.

In that case it is possible for even the second and third parties to form a coalition government. It was a coalition government that got us the healthcare program way back when the third party at the time, agreed to a coalition on condition tht the government would create Universal Healthcare.

Great things can be accomplished in such cases.
