DUBAI, June 21 (Reuters) - Iranian officials told Reuters on Friday that Tehran had received a message from U.S. President Donald Trump warning that a U.S. attack on Iran was imminent but saying he was against war and wanted talks on a range of issues.
News of the message, delivered through Oman overnight, came shortly after the New York Times said Trump had approved military strikes against Iran on Friday over the downing of a U.S. surveillance drone, but called them off at the last minute.

WNU Editor: Iran's Supreme Leader made it very clear when he met the Japanese Prime Minister last week that he was not interested in having talks with President Trump. Has what happened in the past few days changed his mind? We shall see, but IMHO he will not change.

The instant Iran starts talking, they lose their leverage against the USA. So no, not happening at this time. Iran has Russia, China, Turkey and the EU on its side against the USA just as long as Iran doesn't cause major disruptions to the global energy markets.
The USA has SA, UAE, Israel on its side in any confrontation with Iran and that leaves a big basket of countries on the side lines.
Trump engaged in some psyche war last night. Iran retorted it could have shot down a P-8 last night. So a war of words, a war of hardware, not a bad place to be considering its Iran and the USA we're talking about.
Iran could have attempted to shoot down a P-8, but they didn't did they.
Actions speak louder than words.
Trump gets punched in the face in public and does nothing!
