Daily Mail: China's chief medical advisor DENIES the coronavirus originates in Wuhan as he blasts the claim as 'irresponsible'

* Epidemiologist Dr Zhong Nanshan rebuked the widely held belief yesterday
* 'It is irresponsible to conclude lightly before [the matter] is clarified,' he said
* His statement came as cases are falling rapidly in China but soaring globally
* A Beijing's spokesperson suggested the virus was brought to Wuhan by the US

Beijing's top coronavirus expert has denied that the bug originated in Wuhan and slammed such claim as 'irresponsible'.

'The epidemic of the novel coronavirus pneumonia indeed took place in China, in Wuhan… but it does not mean its source is in Wuhan,' said Dr Zhong Nanshan, the leader of a team of experts appointed by China to tackle the health crisis.

With cases falling rapidly in China and soaring abroad, Beijing is now rejecting the widely held assessment that the city of Wuhan is the birthplace of the outbreak.

WNU Editor: The Chinese government's medical experts are still pushing the narrative that the virus was developed elsewhere and brought to China, while the Chinese foreign office is pushing the narrative that it was deliberately brought into the country by the U.S. .... China Accuses The U.S. For Starting The Covid-19 Coronavirus Pandemic (March 12, 2020). To say that pushing these claims are destructive is an understatement. These claims are also infuriating in view of the Chinese government's rush to punish the doctors who first warned about this outbreak at the end of December, 2019, followed by deliberately keeping out WHO and US experts and doctors on infectious diseases until February to assess and examine the origin of the disease in Wuhan.

China is still pushing the angle that it had something to do with the 2019 Military World Games.

The infection would have to be asymptomatic for 4 weeks or misdiagnosed on many people. You could back check if there were samples kept.

They impossibility of asymptomatic spread for the whole month of November gains no traction and I do not want a Amber Heard/Johnny Depp situation. Especially, since I do not have their kind of money.

Anyway I know that is what is being put out there by the citizenry without the government genesis and by the government itself. Now, I have to watch for yahoos on both sides of the pond.

After the 2019–20 coronavirus outbreak, conspiracy theories about COVID-19 being the CIA's creation to keep China down were all over the Chinese internet,[27] according to The Economist.

"The first person known to have fallen ill due to the new virus was traced back to 1 December 2019 in Wuhan"

"On 31 December 2019, the virus had caused enough cases of unknown pneumonia to be reported to health authorities in Wuhan, the capital of Hubei province, China,[178] and an investigation into the illness began early in the following month.[179] These were mostly linked to the Huanan Seafood Wholesale Market, which also sold live animals, consequently the virus is thought to have a zoonotic origin.[180]"

"The WHO has stated that the risk of spread from someone without symptoms is "very low". However, if someone has early symptoms and a mild cough, there is a risk of transmission.[228] An analysis of infections in Singapore and Tianjin, China revealed that coronavirus infections may be spread by people who have recently caught the virus and have not yet begun to show symptoms.[229]"
