Poll Says Americans Are Fed Up With Violence in Major Cities. 62% Say It Will Affect Their Vote

Rasmussen: Voters Favor Crackdown on Violent Protests; Most Democrats Disagree

Voters are ready for the police to put an end to the continuing violent protests nationwide. Most also say the protests will be important to their vote in the upcoming elections.

When asked which is closer to their own thinking, 50% of Likely U.S. Voters say the police should crack down on the protests to bring them to an end. A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 38% disagree and believe the protests should be allowed to continue until the protesters decide to end them. Eleven percent (11%) are undecided. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

There’s sharp partisan disagreement on this question, though. While 75% of Republicans and a plurality (47%) of unaffiliated voters think the police should crack down on the protests, just 31% of Democrats agree. Fifty-six percent (56%) of Democrats say the protests should be permitted to continue until the protesters want to end them.

WNU Editor: Only 72% of all voters are saying they are concerned about the growing level of violent protest nationwide?!?!?!? I would think the number would be closer to 90%. I would also add one more observation that the poll omits. Many Americans are angry. Correction. Very angry.

And they may take that anger out on Trump.

I think you underestimate how dynamic the direction of that anger can find itself drifting in.

It is Democrats mayors telling police not to confront looters.

Mayors are in charge of police ot presidents.

Presidents send in the National guard after governors request it.

Those are the rules.

Dems figure, if they do not request the national guard, and do not use the police, then they win.

Can confirm media bias in NYC. CNN/MSNBC/WAPO/NYTIMES flood the population with misinformation, and blaming everything on a dumb administration. Programming is deep. Disagree with them and suddenly you're an idiot, racist, sexist or whatever they've been programmed with for years. Tell them about scandals in all of these news outlets, they firmly believe you are the one who is misinformed (and that very well might be true, my point is the extreme and dangerous polarisation and lies in the media that we need to urgently address
.. this misinformation and how also doctors play into it for political brownie points is a danger to our society. Do not underestimate it, it goes beyond Trump and partisanship.

Angry and arming themselves; I think this election will end with a Trump big win (MAGA!), but lots of count issues and riots by the losers.

It's the dim-o-kratz who seem unconcerned that bothers me. I would like to hear a few explain their lack of compassion for those whose business was destroyed and the employees now jobless.
I'll wager not many polled live in a dim-o-krat run city where the peaceful demonstrations destroy and loot entire blocks.
I question the relevance of this poll.

The Police and DA's are responsible for much of this in my opinion. Politicians are not in the constitutional enforcement loop. There is the bill of rights which is the foundation for all laws in America. The law protects and promotes civilization, it protects lives, property and liberties. The cops investigate crimes based on what acts the law forbids and the evidence. They are not suppose to make decisions based on who the perp or the victim is. They make arrest on probable cause only. The prosecutor looks only at the evidence, the wording of the law and the nature of their specific jury pool to decide whether to prosecute. The circumstances of the perp or victim is the sole province of the judge, no one else. No where in any written law in this country does a mayor have the authority to dismiss a law or get in between a cop or prosecutor and their duty. These cops and prosecutors are willing refusing to do their jobs. and when I say cops I mean the administrators. Anyways, these are interesting times. If you weren't a prepper before, you probably are now.
