Another U.S. Warship Has Passed Through The Taiwan Strait

SHANGHAI/TAIPEI (Reuters) - China’s military tailed a U.S. warship as it passed through the sensitive Taiwan Strait on Saturday, the Chinese military said, denouncing such missions as sending “flirtatious glances” to supporters of Taiwan independence.

China, which claims democratically-run Taiwan as its own territory, has been angered by stepped-up U.S. support for the island, including arms sales and sailing warships through the Taiwan Strait, further souring Beijing-Washington relations.

The U.S. Navy said the guided missile destroyer USS Mustin had conducted “a routine Taiwan Strait transit (on) Dec. 19 in accordance with international law”.

“The ship’s transit through the Taiwan Strait demonstrates the U.S. commitment to a free and open Indo-Pacific,” it added.

So is America great again yet?

I drive a pickup truck. I get tons of pussy.

With a pickup all you neighbors are your friend and want favors.

The other part you are talking about. That happens with any nice looking guy with a decent car, prospects and friends.

I figure that Beijing will count ships, count shipyards, measure budget, and measure will. They might first go for a test run to see the reaction. Then they will collide with an American ship making it an expensive proposition for the Americans. That is one way they can teat China Joe.

Correction ' "test" China Joe.'

Double correction "Test TOTUS."

Expect this to be stepped up. Biden needs to look tough and distractions are needed. Upping the ante against China and an alleged "hack" where Russia is blamed are just part of it.

Do you do the polar bear thing in the Moskva River?

I agree that the Russia hack is a distraction and questionable as to its validity as the "Pearl Harbor of Our Time". It's becoming viable to me that it likely never happened at all.

As for China - I'll wager you that the exact opposite will take place. Biden is compromised and controlled by China. The first thing he will order is a cessation of these, "provocative maneuvers" through the Taiwan Strait.

China and the Biden family have a long history of influence peddling - large cash payments from the former to the latter.

I listen to the ridiculous babble coming out of the mouths of Democrats; "Act of war!", "Pearl Harbor!!". While determinedly ignoring China. /because we all know that Russia is the 'real' threat.

Russ-
Name one time in four years that Trump has ever said one bad word about Russia. To badmouth the Dems is pure nonsense. the GOP was in the past tough on the Dems for being soft on Russia--recall the 50s? Now Trump is lickspittle for Putin! Our intel knows it was a Russian hack; Trump will not admit it...ever wonder why?

Russia is a nuisance. They harass our ships, they hack our computers and troll our Big Tech companies. Russia has an economy about the size of Texas'. Not anywhere near the peer threat that they were in the '50s. That comparison is no longer valid.

The Trump presidency has inflicted more pain on Russia - in pure economic terms - than the three admins prior. IE: Fracking, sanctions, pure economic competition. Its actually Europe who can't seem to help but support Russia - EG: the German gas pipeline (which Trump protested).

Obama was utterly sanguine about Russia and refused to lift a finger to assist Ukraine when Russia annexed the Crimean penn. Obama couldn't wait to cave on missile defense in 2012. Followed that up with a ridiculous "Reset" button with HRC.

The main threat and menace we face now is China. And the Dems are simply infested with their money and influence. As are the "Big Tech" communications monopolies. China, big tech and the Democrats are all in lockstep.

That's dangerous.
