Will US President Biden Be Impeached By A Republican Congress?

WASHINGTON — Upstate Rep. Elise Stefanik, the No. 3 House Republican, has said GOP lawmakers could move to impeach President Biden next year after investigating his family’s foreign consulting businesses and his “illegal” request that Saudi Arabia delay oil production cuts until after the Nov. 8 midterm elections.

“When there’s an egregious abuse of power and high crimes and misdemeanors, that means anything is on the table,” Stefanik told The Post Monday, adding that the White House’s admitted request that the Saudi-led OPEC+ cartel delay oil output cuts until after Americans vote was a “very egregious, inappropriate and illegal action by the president.”

WNU Editor: The standards for impeachment were set by the Democrats in 2019 when they impeached President Trump, and those standards are low.

But I do not think the Republicans will move to impeach President Biden. What they will do if they win Congress is to start investigations into the Biden administration, issue subpoenas, and demand answers.

And it is not going to be like the past when subpoenas were issued and officials refused to show-up. A new precedent has been set with the conviction and soon to be imprisonment of Steve Bannon, a longtime adviser to Donald Trump who defied a subpoena from the Jan. 6 select committee.

My prediction.

When all has been said and done, these Congressional hearings into the Biden administration will be the excuse for President Biden to say that due to health reasons he will not run in 2024, and the media narrative will be on why should Congress investigate and impeach a US President when he will not run again. There is also a very good chance that he will not finish his term, resigning from office due to health reasons and ending any serious probe and/or impeachment.
