WNU Editor: These protests were primarily over the economy and EU support for the war, and tens of thousands participated. But even with these huge crowds .... there was little if any coverage from the main stream media on these protests. Certainly not in Canada and the U.S..

Inflation Protests Spread Across Europe

 

DW: Germany: Thousands protest high energy costs in 6 cities 

Protesters gathered in six German cities on Saturday under a motto roughly translating as "together through the crisis — ensure social security and end fossil fuel dependence," demanding more social justice and sustainability as inflation and rising gas prices start to bite in Germany. 

Organizers like the major trade union ver.di and the German branch of Greenpeace estimated turnout at around 24,000 — including around 6,000 in Berlin, 5,000 in Düsseldorf and Frankfurt, and 4,000 in Stuttgart, with protests also taking place in Hanover and Dresden. 

Police estimates on turnout were often far lower, however, at 1,800 in Berlin, 1,500 in Hanover, 2,300 in Düsseldorf and 2,700 in Frankfurt. 

Police also reported that the demonstrations were calm and peaceful.

Europe descended into a third day of violence on Sunday as rioters in Groningen in the northern Netherlands started fires and threw stones at police while rallying against the latest anti-Covid measures.

It occurred as tens of thousands of people in Belgium took to the streets to protest against the return of strict lockdown rules aimed at curbing a rise in Covid infections. 

Nearly 40,000 people marched on the capital Brussels to protest against new rules banning the unvaccinated from entering restaurants and bars.

France 24: Anti-lockdown protests erupt across Europe as tempers fray over tightening restrictions 

Demonstrators took to the streets in several European cities on Saturday to protest Covid-19 lockdown restrictions, with clashes between demonstrators and police erupting in the German city of Kassel, as authorities tried to confront a third coronavirus wave. 

More than 20,000 people participated in the protest in the central German city of Kassel, where there also were confrontations between the demonstrators and counter-protesters. The anti-lockdown protesters marched through downtown Kassel despite a court ban, and most didn't comply with infection-control protocols such as wearing face masks. 

Some protesters attacked officers and several journalists, according to German media.

Steve Waton, Summit News: European Leader Predicts COVID Hell Will Trigger Monumental ‘Populist Backlash’ 

Warns that globalist integration is the only way to combat people rising up Finland’s leftist Prime Minister Sanna Marin has warned that lockdowns and other restrictive COVID measures will trigger a huge ‘populist backlash’ against governments and politicians in Europe. 

Speaking with the Financial Times, Marin predicted that draconian restrictions “will cause protests more and more, and it’s a breeding ground for populist movements across Europe.” 

“When you’re closing an economy and people’s workplaces, it will cause political instability. Populists come with easy answers to difficult problems, but their solutions are rarely the right ones,” she added. 

The Prime Minister’s solution? Globalist integration, obviously.

Increasingly draconian lockdown measures, economic destitution, and sweeping police powers are evaporating public trust and eroding public patience. 

As the alleged “second wave” of the Coronavirus “pandemic” is reported to be sweeping across Europe in recent weeks, many governments have enthusiastically embraced their totalitarian side and granted themselves sweeping new “emergency powers” alongside new lockdown measures. 

The public has been markedly less co-operative this time around. Rebelling against the seemingly arbitrary limitations which are not supported by either science or common sense. Protests have taken place all across the continent.

We in North America talk about Covid-19 fatigue. The Europeans, if what I am hearing, reading and seeing is true, they are way-past that now.

Announcing a 6pm curfew for the country’s restaurants and bars the Italian prime minister, Giuseppe Conte, called for national unity. “If we all respect these new rules during the month of November,” he said, “we will succeed in keeping the epidemiological curve under control.
