James .... when I talk in English and I ask people where do they think I am from .... they always say Switzerland or central Europe. As to the picture above, .... I had actually flown in from Montreal the month before because of the growing Russian constitutional crisis that was breaking out. A day or two after this picture was taken (which is why I always remember the date) the chaos and the bloodshed started, resulting in Russian T-80 tanks bombing the Russian White House a week later. My uncle took that picture of me. Red Square was being locked down, and aside from us, my mother, my uncle's aide, and a heavy Kremlin security presence .... we were the only ones there. Yes ... it was surreal .... and for some reason I have always kept this picture.
James .... because I also know that you like details, that is a United Nations-ICAO cap that I am wearing. I prefer that dark blue color .... not the stupid bright light blue color that all UN hats are now made of. Sighhh .... we had a certain style then, :)
Well here in Texas there is a long tradition of gimme hats considered ok for even formal wear, regardless of the logo. I'm afraid though you would be required to go to the end of the BBQ line.
